This cache is in a beautiful canyon below Mt Wrightson that takes you up into the pine trees. Designated a Primitive road so a high-clearance vehicle or hiking boots are recommended. Arizona Trail crosses nearby.
Trail starts out easy and gets a little difficult. You can stop at any point and park if you feel uncomfortable and hike on up. It's in a camo painted ammo box right close to the road. Be aware that the Mt. Wrightson Wilderness Area border is right past the cache. Even though the road appears open, it is still illegal for motorized vehicles to drive into the wilderness area, but you can certainly hike in further.
