Short walk features a great view and a stroll along a boardwalk through the azaleas to a Darlingtonia bog.
We always like to tromp around this area and several months ago we noticed that a potential trail had been flagged to one of the many Darlingtonia bogs that cover the serpentine hillsides. When we returned last week, we were amazed to find not a new trail, but a heavy-duty boardwalk through the azaleas, ending at a good cluster of Darlingtonia plants. When the azaleas bloom in the spring, this walk should be spectacular!
The actual cache site is away from the boardwalk and the bog and offers a great view of Sauer's Flat and the famous CRON Stand (world's best sweet corn).
We placed this cache in honor of our buddies, The Boxerlovers, who are living in a travel trailer while they wait to build their new house. The cache is filled with goodies especially for people who live in travel trailers: TT firewood, TT tupperware . . .
