Grockles Gumbo South:Ducks, Geese and Plus Fours

By The Merman

This cache is part of a series set by The Grockles
(a.k.a. Pharisee, The Merman, Motley Crew and Omally).

The other caches in this series are:

Grockles Gumbo North : Where Ravens Feed
Grockles Gumbo East: D-Day in Droxford
Grockles Gumbo West: UFOs in Botley Wood?

And the final stage:
Grockles Gumbo: Here be Treasure!

This cache is situated near the shore of The Solent at Stokes Bay in Gosport.

The cache itself is a medium sizes ammo box and is close to a pond on the fringe of the Stokes Bay Golf Club.
There will be no need to walk on the golf course at all to find the cache, however as always when walking near to a golf course, care should be taken to avoid wayward golf balls. (If you find any PLEASE don't put them in the cache)

The cache is a gentle half mile walk from the car park at N 50 46.708 W01 8.978 and the journey to the cache passes Solent View, so for those who have not done this cache, the two can be combined with very little detour.
There is also a Trig point at N50 46.444 W001 8.398 so all in all it makes for a fullfilling walk.

For those who prefer a slightly longer walk, parking at N50 46.923 W01 9.307 will give you the chance to stop for a cup of tea or an ice cream at the cafe there and have a walk of approximately 1.5 to 2 miles round trip.
The cafe is adjecent to the part of the beach where the Canadian troops embarked for the D-Day landings, and there is a small monument to them outside the cafe.

Given the fact that I knew at least one or two of my co conspiritors would make life hard for you people with more challanging caches this series, I decided just to give you a nice straight forward cache hunt where you can concentrate on having a fabulous walk with great sea views:)
