Sigiriya rock is a site of considerable natural beauty and historic interest. It is only few miles north of Dambula city, famous for its cave temples. The site represents a unique concentration of fifth-century urban planning, architecture, gardening, engineering, hydraulic technology and art.
You will have to do considerable climbing to reach the top of the rock (200m from surrounding plains), hence the rating 4. Almost half way to the top is a terrace housing the ruins of a large-scale animal that in effect was gatehouse to the palace at the summit.
In order to claim this cache, you need to email me answers to the following three questions:
What is the animal seen at the coordinate location?
What is the remaining part of it that can still be seen today ?
Send me a picture of the remaining part to verify you have been there.
Happy caching.
