Geocache Description:

National parks won't let you hide a geocache. Nothing wrong with a few virtuals followed by a cache hidden outside the park, now is there?

A tour through the park loop, in a counterclockwise direction makes this one easier.

LOCATION 1, at the coordinates given above, is a cool place to look around. When you get there, note the number associated with this position. You'll find it. This number will be called variable "A". Just for fun, walk 230 feet (but not much further!) south. I could stand there for hours.

LOCATION 2: To arrive at this location, simply use variable "A" and fill in the following simple formula:

46 Degrees 55. (A x 7) (A-2) North
103 Degrees 23.30 (A+1) West

Now, remember, only do the math that's in the parentheses. DON'T multiply the value in one set of parentheses times the value in another set of parentheses. Then simply substitute the values in the parentheses in their appropriate place. This isn't proper math, its just fun. For example, if "A" were 2 (which it isn't), latitude arrived at by the above formula would be:
46 Degrees 55.140 North.

On the way to Location 2, do a little advance bookkeeping. Write out the numbers 1 through 20. You will be placing the letters from four words, in order, and omitting the spaces, next to these numbers.

At Location 2, you are standing on something. What general type of material is this? Keep it simple. Write this single word down, starting next to the number 1.

Next, look back to where you parked. What geometric shape is this parking area? Write this second word down.
Don't leave any spaces.

LOCATION 3: Add 3.724 minutes to the Latitude of Location 2
Add 5.861 minutes to the Longitude of Location 2

What's this place called? Write this down next to the remainder of your numbers. Enjoy the view here before moving on. A stroll to the end of the trail to the north will provide a spectacular view.

LOCATION 4: The final location is not in the park. And it is the only location that has anything to do with the name of this goofy multicache. To arrive at the final location, where the real treasure is:

Latitude:
46 Degrees 56.(Add the decimal portions of latitude from Location 1 and Location 2 to get the decimal portion here) North

Longitude:
(The last "N" x 5) + 3 Degrees (A x the first "C") + 1 .("Y") (The 2nd C") West

Remember, don't multiply one parentheses times another.
NOTE: The "A" used to compute the coordinates of Location 4 is NOT the same "A" as used in
the calculations to find Location 2. All numbers to be used here coincide with the four words
you've written down.

The cache consists of an ammo can, which when concealed, contained the following:

Log book
Pencil
Pen
Pliers
Deck of cards
Swiss army type knife
Calculator
ND Discover the Spirit pin
Mini screwdriver set

I did forget to put one of the standard geocaching stash notes in this one. Didn't have one handy. If someone has an extra, please leave one in there.

Enjoy the hunt,
