Jetty Island is a two mile long manmade island In the middle of
Everett’s harbor. Created in the early 1900’s, it is now a refuge
for humans and seabirds alike. Come play on the beach or bird
watch. Bring the family, or come alone. (sorry, no dogs
allowed.)
The island can be tough or easy to get to depending on time of
year. From July 5 to August 31 it can be reached on certain days by
a free ferry. Call 425-257-8305 or click>
Jetty Island for more info. At all
other times of the year you will have to boat over on your own. It
is a short ride over, about a quarter mile.
I had a cache here some time ago, but it managed to get
bulldozed over during island maintenance. This one is a bit less
exposed. Approach from a very small trail just south of the
target.
Though this island is great for families in the summer, I prefer
it off-weather, off-season. That is when the birds rule the
place.
