One of the highest points on Whidbey, Goose Rock offers the closest thing to "mountain climbing" on the island. Though not exactly a lofty summit, Goose Rock gives spectacular and far-reaching views.
There is speculation over where Goose Rock got its name. Some think it was named Goose Rock because it appears as a roasted goose from the east side of Cornet Bay, while others believe it acquired its name because it may have been a nesting place for migrating geese.
