Geocache Description:

"Friends of Batavia Street Fynbos Area" who is now officialy acknowledged by the city has made a big difference with the help of geocachers and other friends in regards to the clearing and maintenance of invasive species.

During our last CITO we cleared a lot of thorn and having walked the perimeter they are still pushing through. We did however spot the odd Paterson and Wild Mustards starting to sprout as well.   

This CITO should be similar to the one before.  We will be litter picking and be on the look out for young plants with an effort to save ourselves bags full of fully grown plants in the months to come.  

February to April is sadly also the time for English Primrose to bloom and thus seed.   During our last CITO I also noted a few primrose that we can remove if spotted again.

I am starting 30minutes later than usual (lets call it winter, opposite of dayligth saving).  Being only an hour I dont foresee temperatures being to much of a problem.  Do however bring a sun hat and drinks if you think you may need it.   

Plastic bags (with compliment of CoCT) will be supplied.
