The railway once connected Knysna to George, carrying timber, supplies, and passengers through the forests and along the lagoon. Today, only the tracks and a few weathered reminders remain, echoing a bygone era of steam and steel.
Interesting Facts:
The Knysna–George railway line was opened in 1928 and was once famous for its scenic journey through forests and over bridges spanning rivers and lagoons.
The line closed after severe flood damage in 2006, but remnants like the station, sidings, and rails still tell its story.
