Geocache Description:

Cronulla is one of about 30 water resource recovery facilities in Greater Sydney. Here, they treat wastewater to a tertiary standard. Some of the treated water for on-site reuse and return the rest to the environment.

Population served: 250,000 people

Area served: 145 square kilometres – including the suburbs of Cronulla, Sutherland, Helensburgh, Menai, Bundeena and Maianbar

Wastewater treated: 53 million litres each day

Treatment level: TertiaryRecycled water applications: They reuse some water on-site for industrial purposes like washing down equipment and filter backwashes.

Environmental discharge: They release the treated wastewater to the ocean at Potter Point, Kurnell.

Biosolids produced: 19,000 tonnes each year.

This cache replaces the now archived GC415M0 Sutherland Shire Cycleways - Cache #19 (Challenge). The decision to archive that cache came about after learning that a lot of cachers are using Adventure Lab caches and puzzle caches to fill in dates for their statistics without going out to do a Geocache.

So here is a cache for everyone

to enjoy.
