Did you know that there’s an official day to celebrate postcards? October 1 is World Postcard Day! This day began in 2019 to mark the 150th anniversary of the postcard. Every year, postcard enthusiasts meet up to celebrate the occasion, even making special postcards and stamps! Geocaching and postcards go hand in hand. We all know the joy of opening a container—whether that be a mailbox or a geocache—and discovering something unexpected hidden inside.
What’s even better is getting the chance to meet people from around the world that share the same excitement. Both postcards and geocaches connect us to our community and make the world that we explore feel just a little bit closer.

Time: 8:30 am to 9:00 am
Where: Infront of Australia Post Alice Springs. There is a small undercover area with some bench seating that we will try and use if available. If not, we will meet nearby.
If you attend any Geocaching Event from 29th September to 5th October you will be able to earn the World Postcard Day 2024 souvenir!
Bring along some old or new postcards and share some stories or swap some if you want to.
