🌳🌿 CARING FOR SAPLINGS IN THE HEDGEROW 🌿🌳
This CITO event is set to last for 3 hours and some attendees like to stay for the entire session, however this is not an obligation.
Please feel free to turn up whenever is convenient and just stay as long as you wish.
Parking: There is some on-street parking opposite Hucclecote Meadows SSSI on Laxton Road (or in many of the other side streets nearby).
Where: We will meet at 09:30 by the main entrance to the Reserve (CITO coords) or after that find us working in the Meadows, around the hedgerows.
What: Join us as we continue caring for the young trees within the hedges around the Meadows. We will be checking ties, guards and stakes, removing and replacing them as necessary, and weeding around the base to allow the saplings to grow healthily and enhance the hedgerow.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Please bring work gloves if possible, and if you wish to bring your own tools (secateurs, shears) please do so. Don't worry if you don't have tools as the Ranger will have a supply.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring a drink/snack for breaktime. Homemade cake will be provided 🙂
