Convidamos toda a comunidade de Geocachers a participar na iniciativa de intervenção ambiental na Quinta do Pisão em parceria com a CASCAIS AMBIENTE e integrado no programa "OXIGÉNIO", "programa de promoção e defesa da natureza e da biodiversidade no concelho de Cascais, realizado através de ações de voluntariado (...) e envolvimento da comunidade em ações de conservação da natureza".
Como vamos intervir?
Ao abrigo deste programa com uma vasta agenda denominada CAMINHOS SUSTENTÁVEIS, iremos efetuar o controlo da vegetação invasora. Concentramo-nos em frente ao Portão de entrada da Quinta do Pisão e deslocamo-nos para uma mancha florestal afetada pela repopulação de infestantes onde iremos proceder ao arranque manual de rebentos e juvenis. A nossa acção terá repercussões num futuro de curto prazo, pois deixaremos o terreno livre para a plantação de endémicas (um bom motivo para outro CITO!).
Teremos muito gosto que estejas presente para estares verdadeiramente em contacto com a natureza, num meio de grande beleza paisagistica e engrandeceres o que será um grande momento de convívio.

: We'd love to invite all geocachers to take part in an environmental project at Quinta do Pisão in partnership with CASCAIS AMBIENTE, which is part of the "OXYGEN" programme "that promotes and defends nature and biodiversity in the municipality of Cascais. The Oxigen programme aims to engage the community in conservation activities. These actions are carried out through volunteer initiatives".
How can we make a difference?
We're thrilled to announce that, under the umbrella of the ambitious and far-reaching SUSTAINABLE PATHS programme, we'll be taking control of invasive vegetation. We'll be focusing our efforts in front of the entrance gate to Quinta do Pisão and moving on to a patch of forest affected by weed repopulation. There, we'll be hand-pulling shoots and juveniles – it's going to be great! Our action will have an immediate impact, as we'll be freeing the land for planting endemic plants (another great reason to come to the next CITO!).
