For this hide you do not have to enter this 60m lava cave to find the cache.
The cache is left of the cave entrance, follow the back wall (see spoiler image).
These caves are the most easily visited lava caves in the Auckland volcanic field.
In this cave part of the roof has collapsed, forming a trench, letting light in at different points.
Please do check them out, its fun exploring these caves, bring a torch or use your phone to navigate the dark.
Remember to watch your head as there are low points.
Nearby are three other caves at least to explore, but are not well marked, so you may have to search a little.
