I hope we can have another great turnout for this semi-regular event cleaning the cemetery with the Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery ‘Guardian Angels’.
Come along and join a happy group of volunteers by tidying up the beautiful historic cemetery at Dutton Park. We will be removing litter and some tree debris plus cleaning graves.
Where: South Brisbane Cemetery, Dutton Park
When: Sunday 8th September, 2024
Time: 9.15am -10.15am (duration 1 hour) - though you can of course stay longer. There will be a sausage sizzle at about 11am for those who wish to stay longer.
Parking is available within the cemetery grounds or, if you live on the NW side, you can easily park at UQ and walk across the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. Meet at the office in the centre of the cemetery to sign on.
Bring a pair of gloves (though they can be provided), wear a hat and bring a bottle of water. Rakes and brooms could also be useful but again, the Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery ‘Guardian Angels’ do have them.
In addition to the Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery sign-in sheet, there will be a separate sign-in book at the table identified with a geocaching logo.
