Part of the latest round of Pasadena's Rotating Public Art Program, this sculpture is titled "Rosa Geometrica", by the artist-team In Theory Art Collective. Constructed from layers of powered-coated steel, the sculpture features a large unfolding geometric flower rose in various hues of dichroic paint. Inspired by the historic significance and iconography of the rose, the artist-team juxtaposes the organic with the mathematical, the symbolic with the scientific, producing a sculpture that echoes the diverse identities and cultures of Pasadena.
