Geocache Description:

As you enter the beautiful Victoria Park, take a moment of contemplation and consider where this micro-sized geocache could be. This cache contains a small log book only - you will have to bring your own pen. It is almost always frequented by muggles during daylight hours, so stealth is required to retrieve and replace. Please handle the cache with care, especally when retrieving. What is retrieved must be replaced, remember! Note also the attributes; the park gates are not always open 24/7 and the information required is inside the park. The final, however, is not inside the park and is accessible 24/7.

As always, I'm unsure of what the true difficulty is here. Some may find it with no problems while others may take multiple trips. D/T rating has been assigned in accordance with other geocaches in/around the local area and London more generally. Note also that the signal in/around Victoria Park can be very poor across multiple networks. I recommend you download the cache, and any others in the area, to an offline list prior to your search.

Please feel free to take as many photos as you desire, but I ask that you do not upload any spoiler photos or include any cache spoilers within your written log either. If a photo or written log is deemed to contain a spoiler(s), I may delete your log or photo without warning. Keep it fun for everyone! 📸

The Bow Heritage Trail

The Bow Heritage trail highlights a selection of over 40 areas of interest around the Bow area within London. If you want to learn more about the trail and it's history, you can do so on the official website here.

As London's oldest public park, Victoria Park is an absolute highlight and definitely included within the trail. This park was opened for the benefit of the East End working class, “The People's Park” and has a long and rich history spanning over 170 years. At 86 hectares, Victoria Park is also the largest park in Tower Hamlets, top trumping Mile End!

The final coordinates

Head to the posted coordinates and simply obtain the very clearly presented numbers. Let this be ABCD. Then calculate the following coordinates;

N 51 (3A)(C/2).(B-8)(D-4A)(C-A)

W 000 (4A-D)(2A).(A+C)(D-C)(B/2)

At the GZ, wou may drop your head into your hands when you see the natural guardian on full display, but do have a go. You might get lucky, but you will need to look thoroughly to spot it and note the D/T has been set as a result of all of this. This cache, as originally placed, is not accessible by someone sitting down in a wheelchair.
