Geocache Description:

AQUEDUCT CITY Cache Power trail! Little by little til I finish because this is just a little bit of a huge thing!!

I drove my Honda Hrv out and around this location, so I'm going to say it is safe for other non off road vehicles, if you're able to access off road vehicles you are able to use them in this area as well!

I have found only a handful of facts surrounding this area right between the towns of California City and Mojave CA.

The dates about this area are as early as 1968 and somehow everything about this has vanished. Other than land lawsuits and a fallen sign are remittences of what was to be and what had never happened.

This tract land was said to be advertised as a vision for a housing community inspired by the LA Aqueduct that was built in the town of Mojave to accommodate the water shortage in the LA area but the difference is one was built and is thriving to this day and one is abandoned.

Enjoy your time with going down street by street and imagine what could have been with Each Street being named and the different Avenues listed. You may find yourself wondering what this would have looked like if it did succeed. There are some things that will stand out to you as in a very few places that are fenced off or something that resembles a pool in the ground.

There is also a cache located in the middle of this power trail that has been there for years! So please respect that one and remember to always be aware of your surroundings in the desert areas!  Bring lots of water! Most vehicles could be able to handle this area but it is very bump and rocky but each road way is accessible I used my Honda HRV and got thru it with little to no problems.

The town of MOJAVE is the closest location to this power trail it has all basic needs including gas, groceries ie stores along with emergency services the CHP, Kern county Sheriffs, Kern county Fire station and Ambulances in case of emergencies.

At the end of the power trail there is a mystery cache bonus that I also have made as a little extra 🙂 that will send you off to a little journey down the way!

Thank you for coming out to this location I enjoyed doing it and I hope you’ll enjoy the hunt and the giant 🙂 on your maps!
