Located just off Big Dam Trail. This section of creek is stocked with thousands of trout by the Swatara Cooperative Trout Nursery and PA Fish and Boat.
This is the site of a major floodplain restoration project on Upper Little Swatara Creek and stream improvements by the Northern Swatara Creek Watershed Association.
This project involved the ecological restoration of approximately 5,500’ of the riparian zone and stream channel of the Upper Little Swatara Creek. The Swatara Creek Floodplain Restoration Phase III: Wolfes Road Site project restored floodplain, restored and created wetlands, and naturalized the riparian zone within Sweet Arrow Lake County Park. This work will have defined water quality benefits and will reduce sedimentation to this portion of the watershed and subsequent deposition downstream. Aquatic and riparian habitat will improve. While floodplain, stream, and wetland impacts will occur with this project, the net benefits will be overwhelmingly positive.
