A power outage is a disruption of electrical service that can be caused by various factors, such as storms, accidents, equipment failures, or planned maintenance. We can add many more reasons here in SA. There will be many strange bugs. Welcome to add to the list of bugs on your online logs. Even add a picture.
Power outages can affect homes, businesses, and public services, and can have economic and social impacts. Could even ruin countries.

Avon Power Station 950 MW output
Avon Peaking Power plant is one of South Africa’s first large privately owned power generating plants initiated by the Department of Energy. The power generated by this open cycle gas turbine(OCGT) power plants supplies Eskom SOC LTD(Eskom) with electricity during peak demand times. The cost of building both plant represented a significant investment of R5 billion to the South African energy sector.
The plant is located in Shakaskraal, Kwazulu Natal .
Avon Peaking Power started full commercial operation of its 670 MW power plant, located in Shakaskraal, 65 km North of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal Province.
The Open Cycle Gas Turbine plant consists of 4 units and is jointly owned by ENGIE, black majority owned Legend Power Solutions, Mitsui and the Peakers Trust representing the local community. The plant lay-out allows for flexibility with regards to future conversion using gas-fired technology and as such is part of South Africa's gas-to-power development plans.
"The construction of the Avon power plant demonstrate the strength of the partnership between the South African government and the private sector. The start-up of Avon, will be instrumental in supporting South Africa's industrial growth ambitions. The plant provides much needed power and energy security during peak demand periods. It will equally benefit the socio-economic development of the communities surrounding this project."
We have big bug here as it does not seem to help with load shedding and often we hear it is not being utilised as it is only for peak usage!?
