After flying out of Houston in 2015 for the very last time, we've been talking about going back. But everyone knows how life gets in the way of plans and they keep getting pushed back. Then kids happen, a move happens, etc. etc., and before you know it 7 years have passed. But know the kids have grown up a little and are starting to ask questions: "Where did mommy & daddy live before we were born?"
So we decided it was time to show them! And when we show them the place we lived in for three wonderful years, how can we not try to see if we can relive 'the good ol' times' and host an Geocaching event to see of any of the wonderful folks we met all those years ago are still around? So mark your calenders, as we'll only be in town for 10 days or so ;-)
Ever wonder what those "event" caches with a little speech bubble icon are all about? With a name like "event", it seems like it should be a bit more formal. Maybe they do events that way somewhere but not here! This event is a bunch of folks with something in common getting together for food, drinks and conversation.
So if you've been caching for years or just started, events are a great place to learn more about our hobby/sport/obsession. Want to learn about caching? Want to know where all the cool caches are? Or just meet the person behind those devious hides out there? We will try and be on one of the large tables in the back of the restaurant. From the front door, grab a menu, order at the bar and walk inside to the indoor seating area. See if you spot a bunch of rowdy looking folks, that's us!
