This cache is a letterbox hybrid. The cache is not at the posted coordinates. You will need to follow the directions in the cache page to determine the location of the cache. There is a log book and an ink stamp in the container. Do not remove these things, they are not trade items.
Read carefully:
As you come from the parking lot towards the posted coordinates there is a sign about migratory songbirds.
The sign is at a trail intersection. Find the Indigo Bunting on the sign. He is pointing you in the correct direction on the trail.
Follow the trail until you reach another intersection. This is where the Nature Trail branches off of the paved Pond Trail. Turn onto the Nature Trail and go uphill.
As you start uphill, you will pass a post with a red arrow inscribed with "66 MILES." Don't worry, the cache is not that far way. Your walk to the cache should only be about 0.3 miles one way from the start. Continue uphill until you find a wooden railing on the left side of the path. There is a bench dedicated to Betty Gene on the opposite side of the trail. This can be your first rest stop after your uphill hike.
The trail will turn slightly to the right after the railing. Continue on the trail. You will go downhill and cross a small wooden footbridge.
It's uphill again after the bridge. As you reach a crest in the hill you will find another rest stop, a bench dedicated to Jared. At this stage my GPS said that the elevation gain from the posted coordinates was 55 ft...it seemed like more.
The cache is only about 25 ft. past Jared's bench. Look for a large tree on the right side of the trail (the same side as the bench). The cache is under natural camo at the base of the tree.
