The start of the chorus for the title track of Noah Kahan's third full-length album reads "And I love Vermont, but it's the season of the sticks." The New England artist is referring to the time between fall and spring when the leaves have fallen off the trees and the trees are nothing more than sticks. However, in my opinion, the other months dubbed the "season of the ticks" are equally important. (See what I did there?) It seems Lyme disease cases as a result of those nasty little ticks are at an all-time high. I know several people recently that have battled Lyme disease recently, myself included. Let me tell you, it is not fun. So, please check yourself and check yourself often. Be sure to remove the full tick, head, and all.
This cache is a simple traditional find along a popular hiking, biking, and running trail. While out on the hunt you might see me running by; I'm most likely listening to the Stick Season album. This is intended to be an easy find and a great one for kids. Please replace everything exactly as you found it as this cache could easily be muggled. While this cache was placed with the intention of avoiding ticks, and no ticks were spotted while placing it, please be vigilant of all forest creatures and check yourself for any hitchhiking friends when you get home.
