This is a single unisex stand alone toilet located in the suburb of Caversham, Just off what until the 1980's was State Highway 1. Traffic on that road today is about as heavy as it was in the late 1970's when I use to catch a work bus out to the Taieri. Anyway, back to the facility that I want to introduce you to. Approaching from the main drag (South Road) you will see it located on your right, a small, creamy white, rought cast structure with a brown/grey roof with a small peak. No porch. Two doors, the same colour as the roof will be facing you. It is the left hand door you want (unless you are there as the cleaner where you will be using both doorways). The door should be wide open, ready to recieve you. if cloaed then it is either in use or out of order. On a panel between the two doors, information is provided.
Upon entering you will step onto a floor constructed of grey cermanic squares. The walls are of similar sized cermanic squares coloured white. On the wall panel to your right are two buttons. Push the red the door will slide close to give you privacy. Next to this is the recessed stainless steel hand washing facility. Along the top of this facility is a panel using three modes to describe the use of this hand washing facility - written english, braille, symbols. above this panel is a notice saying when the loos were last cleaned. It had been just a few hours prior to my visit but obviously not a detailed clean as there were old leaves in the floor guttering. Progressing along the wallsis a handrail shaped in a reverse "L" with a white toilet paper dispenser surrounded by the hand rail on two sides. To access the loo paper you need to press the button located by it an a strip of paper should emerge. If you know that your visit is going to require this commodity then it is best to press the button to see if there is any available paper before you progress any further.
Along the back wall you will find the business area where the stainless steel loo juts out from the wall. The cold rim is covered by a white plastic seat and when open the lid rests against a hand rail. What is lacking is a mechanical way to flush your unmentionables away. Don't worry. above the loo is a sign that informs you to wash your hands and when you activate the delivery of the the water for hand washing the flushing is also activated. If your someone who normally doesnt wash your hands after going to the loo then they do cater for you and you can sidestep this important procedure and flush the loo by vacating the premises. this is done by pressing the green button by the door.
Progressing along from the loo you will see a blank wall except for a yellow metal container afixxed to the wall with no explaination about its role. an educated guess is that this is where you dispose of a used needle after injecting any insulin or other substances.
I hope that you have a lighter feel after having under going an easy way of rapidly loosing some weight and that you found the facitity to a reasonable standard of cleanliness.
Now, to find the cache head off to S45 53.ABC E170 28.DEF
First though you need to know what ABCDE & F are.
If you look on the outside wall on the west side of the unit you will see the sign with the public toilet ID number on it.
A = the address number - 1
B = the sum of the two digits that make up the ID number
Now, start heading south to S45 53.831 E170 28.824. this site is visible from the loos and less than a minute of walking away. it's on the other side of the road. Look up and you will see a large white sign with red lettering. Using A =1....B=26 to work out the following:
C = value of the 9th letter minus that of the 7th
D = sum of the value of all the capital letters
E = value of the 11th letter minus that of the 9th letter
F = value of the 15th letter minus that of the 12th letter
Checksum = 31
