Cove Haven is one of only two African American cemeteries in Lexington, officially established in September of 1907. Among the 10,000 buried at Cove Haven, there are nearly 500 Veterans, including those of the Spanish-American War, Civil War, and World Wars I and II. Cove Haven relies solely on community donations and volunteers to maintain the grounds.
