Welcome to Woodcock Nature Center with nearly 4 miles of trails on approximately 150 acres located on the Wilton - Ridgefield town line. The trails are open from sunrise to sunset all year round. Leashed dogs are welcome with walkers. Woodcock Nature Center offers school field trips, summer camp and enrichment programs, which support their education efforts by immersing the community in direct experiences with nature.
This property was originally owned by the Siwanog tribe. Siwanoy were an Indigenous American band of Wappinger people who lived along the coast of Long Island, The Bronx, Westchester County, New York and Fairfield County. Not all Native Americans lived in Tipis. The native woodland tribes in the Northeast built Wigwams and Longhouses out of wood, bark, and grasses. Historically, the Tipi has been used by some indigenous people in the Great Plains and Canadian Prairies of North America, including The Sioux, Cheyenne, Crow, Comanche and Blackfoot.
Thanks to the staff of Woodcock for their cooperation and permission in setting up this cache.
I enjoy looking at pictures, but NO SPOILERS PLEASE. Have fun and, as always, be careful when caching! I look forward to your logs.
The container is starting off with a few Pathtags and associated items.
