Saturday Oct 08th - 8:00 a.m.
Please join us to show the Tucson Community the positive side of Geocaching and how Cache In Trash Out events impact our environment."
We'll be gathering at 7:40 AM and beginning the cleanup around 8 AM, East side of parking lot just in front of ROSS outlet store.
Parking is available just east side of parking lot. Just look for the group of people wondering around, unless you arrive there first.
From there we'll go on a clean-up walk for about a quarter of a mile, depending on wash conditions. Our ETC (estimated time of completion) should be around 90 minutes.
Trash bags, some gloves, grapplers, and cold water will be provided. Please remember to bring supplies to make the day safer (sunscreen, extra CITO supplies, hiking boots recommended, your favorite gloves, hats, smiley face, etc.)
Be prepared to wear the proper clothing/footware as the wash banks can be steep with loose dirt/rocks as well as having lots of carnivorous plants, sticky thorny brush & sharp treasures hidden in the sand.
Brief History of our partnership with Tucson Clean and Beautiful. As many of you already know Southern Arizona Geocachers have partnered with Tucson Clean & Beautiful officially adopted this stretch of the Alamo Wash. The first CITO event began March 25th, 2006.
68 CITO Events later, our group has contributed over 2900 volunteer hours. Awesome team!
