Welcome to JBJ McDonald Conservation Land! Just secured in early 2022, it is now open to the public and ready to explore.
This land has a variety of habitats, including a meadow, mixed wood forests, shoreline along Lily Lake, and even a spruce and tamarack bog. This habitat variety supports many wildlife; from waterfowl, deer, and even black bear and cougar! Please be aware that animal encounters are possible at this remote conservation land. Livestock may be at large as well.
To find this geocache:
Access the trailhead after walking from the parking lot and follow it until you reach the second intersection that takes you to the trail along Lily Lake. There can be some wet spots on this trail so waterproof footwear is recommended. Once you reach the east side of this trail where there is an intersection with one trail marked as Closed for Restoration, stay on the main trail and you will be close to the cache. This habitat has many small sensitive plant species, so please don’t go off trail to find the cache until you are within 10m. Use the name and the hint to help you find the cache.
