NoVAGO 2022 Best Series
This cache is being placed in association with the NoVA Chapter of the Military Association of GeoCachers (MAGC) event held nearby each month. If you haven't found the others in the series, they are all fairly close by, so I hope you have time to check them out.
The movie in the title of this cache, "The Final Countdown", came out in the theaters when I was a flight student at Pensacola, Florida. It is one of my all time favorite movies. One of my classmates actually appears in one of the scenes. The movie has an intriguing plot and lots of famous actors, but the real star of the film, at least in my opinion, is the ship where most of the action takes place. Details about this ship will be the key to solving for the coordinates of this cache and signing the log. It's very simple and the internet will be your friend for this one.

Your mission is to find out what U.S. Navy ship is prominently featured in this film and answer the two questions below. Then, proceed to the coordinates, open the cache, and sign the log. Of course, you are expected to use appropriate stealth and leave the cache in good shape when you leave.
Here are the questions:
1. What is the numerical designator of the ship (CVN-__)? SUBTRACT this number from the posted North coordinates and ADD this number to the posted West coordinates. This will give you the final coordinates.
2. What year was the ship commissioned? This will be the combination to the lock of the cache
You have your orders. Proceed to the solved coordinates and accomplish the mission. Failure is not an option.

Public parking is readily available at the final location. You'll be walking a short distance down a grassy slope to get to GZ. It will likely be slippery after rain or snow. You will need to be stealthy because there is a paved path adjacent to GZ and it is popular for walkers, runners, and bikers. It is also within sight of some buildings, although the occupants aren't likely to bother you.
You will need your own writing instrument. There is no room for SWAG or trackables. This cache is available 24/7.
