Since 1949, the community of Renovo has rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the arrival of fall with a three-day festival designated by the legislature as the Pennsylvania State Flaming Foliage Festival. Always held the second full weekend of October, festivities include the crowning of a Flaming Foliage Queen from among a field of high school senior girls from across the region, a huge parade through town, and a three-day arts and crafts festival. The festival is both a homecoming for those who have moved from the area, and a destination for people wanting to enjoy the fall scenery. Flaming Foliage Committee volunteers staff the FFF Welcome Center for limited hours to provide visitors/travelers information on the area.

Foliage is a big deal when the calendar turns to autumn in Renovo. Driving in the fall is also a big deal! Drivers should remember to increase their following distance in severe weather, at dusk and dawn, and in areas with wet leaves. Check your vehicle's headlights, taillights and turn signals to make sure they are working properly, since darkness will be part of your morning or evening autumn commute. Have your vehicle's heating and wiper systems checked to make sure they are working properly. And be sure you have tires with sufficient tread depth in case of an early season snow!
