HAPPY CANADA DAY
I invite you to join this Canuk in celebrating Canada Day.
We will meet in the corner of Trafalgar Square near the statue of General Charles Napier,
across from Canada House.
Canada Day, known informally as "Canada's Birthday", is the national day of Canada, originally known as Dominion Day. It celebrates the anniversary of Canadian Confederation on 1 July 1867 when the three separate colonies of the United Canadas, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were joined into a single Dominion. Canada became a "kingdom in its own right" within the British Empire, commonly known as the Dominion of Canada.
Please wear (or bring) something red and white for the Canadian flag colours (if you can).
Let's celebrate in typical Geocaching style with tales of geocaching exploits and other geochat.
Bring your trackables and geocoins for discovery or to swap.
If the weather should be against us, there is pub not far away on Whitehall where we can take refuge. We also retire there for a quick drink afterwards.
