THE THROSBY TREE
Such is the significance of The Throsby Tree,that roadways were altered to allow for the Heritage Site.
A Heritage sign displays all the information and pictures .This tree was placed on the Heritage Register because of its two unique scars.
On either side of the The Throsby Tree there are scars. One is Aboriginal and one European—telling us two stories from our history. The scar on the Northern side of the trunk is long and straight and believed to be Aboriginal in origin. Many uses from the bark from the scar were for canoes, containers,shields and shelter use.
The scar on the Southern side is triangular ,indicating a survey mark of European origin.
The cache is small and contains a log book, pencil and many swaps plus a collectable. Parking nearby. Extreme stealth required.
