A nice wide-open space to learn a little Corsicana history and search for a nano.
The State Home Cemetery Park offers a glimpse into the history of the Corsicana State Home and a tribute to the Corsicana State Home Veterans. A lot of history packed into a small footprint just off north 45th street with a view of the old State Home in the background.
This is next to a busy street, but there is concrete parking inside the fence. Most of the area is wheelchair accessible. Recommended to visit during daylight hours.
Take some time to read the plaques, and stroll around the grounds. Once you’ve soaked in some history, relax and have a seat on the benches, close to the bell tower is a good spot.
