Pick up a series of 24 caches as you head north out of town towards the 'Big Bend', a local recreation area north of Charters Towers on the Burdekin River. You may have heard a TV show was recently filmed in this area.
Andy is the first in the series
General information about the series;
- For the most part the caches are clip lock containers or a few screw top jars and contain a log and pencil only.
- They are mostly hidden behind trees, under rocks or stumps. Mainly on the side away from the road, or the 'blindside'.
- The hides will be spread out over more than 20 kilometres, you may need to form an alliance to find them all.
- The spots were primarily chosen where you can pull off the road, but be careful of parking on long dry grass. Other traffic is sparse but will be doing 100km/hr.
- Be wary of water in the roadside drains and spikey or scratchy (blood drawing plants).
- Each cache has a spoiler photo (for our benefit as well), usually taken when placing the cache and re-averaging the coordinates.
- Please let us know if roadworks or fires impinge on any of the caches and we will go and seach for survivors.
