Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 100 Acre Wood

The cache IS at the posted coordinates.

You can sign the log anytime, but to claim a find, you need to complete the following challenge:

Welcome to the 100 Acre Wood, a forest of challenges that will let you flex your stats AND stretch your legs.  Glen Alpine Valley is home to some amazing twisted and time-worn Juniper trees.  They thrive in challenging terrain under challenging conditions, so it seems only fitting that they also host some challenging caches!  In creating this course, I wanted to share a place I love and provide a source of inspiration and motivation... I like to have goals that require effort but that are clearly achievable, goals I know I can constantly build toward and complete. I have hiked to all of these trees in the summer and visited them all by snowshoe in the winter.  These caches are all off-trail in moderate to difficult terrain... but there are plenty of rocks, ridges, terraces, and traverses that make them all accessible if you pick the right approach.  However and whenever you plan to go, plan ahead and be prepared. And if you've got 100 aches at the end of the day...  you're only feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Challenge Qualifications: 100 Mystery / Unknown Finds

This challenge is for those who aren't afread to head into the unknown... and often decide to do so before ever actually heading outside.  i was first introduced to puzzle caching while spending time with family back in Seattle.  There were a series of puzzles by Camp Latona that really helped me keep my mind off of heavier stuff.  While puzzles don't always play well in Tahoe, there are some serious solving communities out there... so dome on over and pay a visit to our neighborhood.  To qualify for this challenge, you need to have found a minimum of 100 Caches of the "Unknown" type... that mysterious question mark icon that scream "The Cache is NOT at the Posted Coordinates!"  Challenge caches do NOT count toward this challenge (they have their own tree in the 100 Acre Wood), but Bonus caches for Adventure Labs DO!  While this cache IS at the posted coordinates, it might feel like a field puzzle figuring out how best to get to the cache.  Be safe and assess your approach carefully.  I love this spot and it's a great place to do some serious thinking.  May you find inspiration here too!  At the time of publication I have 184 qualifying unknown cache finds.

You can verify your totals with the checker below!

No need to share all 100 of your known finds (unless you want to)...  that's easy to see in your stats, but I encourage you to share your favorite puzzle cache, most satisfying solve, or any other puzzling accomplishments in your log!  My most satisfying moment was claiming Co-FTF with MethylGrace on a Seattle Puzzle and getting our names on the Illustrious Seattle FTF Bell!
