Welcome to the beautiful Leatherstocking Trail, the southern end of Westchester County's Colonial Greenway Trail.
The Leatherstocking Trail is a 2.5-mile long trail running from Pinebrook Boulevard in New Rochelle to Rock Ridge Road in Mamaroneck Village. The trail provides a quick and easily accessed respite from urbanized life. Named after "the rugged, self-reliant outdoorsman of James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales" (Larchmont-Mamaroneck Patch, 8/7/2021, Jeff Edwards, Patch Staff).

Last February, as I was walking along the LT after a heavy snowfall, I came across some creative snowscene reminiscent of the Bill Watterson classic "Attach of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons" originally published in January 1992.
The container is accessible 24/7/365 but may be harder to locate in the winter months.
