Here we come!!!
Geocaching NSW would like to extend an invitation to all geocachers to travel to the beautiful Hunter Valley area for our 2022 Hunter Expedition during the weekend of the 5th/6th March.
Maitland is around a two hour drive from Sydney and is well within the reach of many geocachers.
There are lots of fabulous geocaches to be found in this region so why not team up with a few friends and enjoy a fantastic weekend of geocaching fun.
On the Sunday, we will enjoy a Meet’n’Greet event in Morpeth, an historic town that takes its name from Morpeth in the county of Northumberland in England.
Event details are as follows:
Date: Sunday, 6th March, 2022
Venue: Ray Lawler Reserve, Morpeth Common, Edward St. Look for our portable gazebo and the Geocaching NSW banner.
Cost: There is no cost to enter the reserve.
Dogs: Your furbabies can be brought along. There's even an off-leash area for them to play in.
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm.
What to bring: Please BYO all personal food and drink requirements. Folding chairs and/or a picnic rug is always a good idea.
What's provided: Unfortunately, there isn't a cafe available onsite however we will provide tea and coffee (instant) for you to enjoy. If you prefer a barista made coffee, you will need to bring that with you.
Toilets: Available onsite.
Group Photograph: The official Expedition Event Group Photograph will be taken at 11:00 so hope you can be there for that.
There is plenty of accommodation around Maitland/Hunter Valley Wineries region. An internet search will come up with a number of options for you to choose from.
Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about the latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.
