Vicoletto scoperto per caso lunga una camminata verso l'Auditorium di Roma, parco della musica.
Il nome della strada deriva dalla meridiana a tre faccie che si trova all'inizio della via, dove c'è scritto "Sine sole sileo", ovvero "senza il sole sono muta".
Man mano che si procede in avanti fin dietro la curva, l'atmosfera è sempre più misteriosa, signorile e fiabesca, quasi di epoca settecentesca.
La strada si apre nel vivo dell’antica Villa Sacchetti, che venne suddivisa alla fine dell’800 in più ville di dimensioni più piccole, e nei primi anni del ‘900 si immetteva direttamente nelle proprietà del barone Aliotti.
La strada era chiusa, fino al 1913, da Villa Aliotti, che venne demolita per costruire la residenza dell’Ambasciatore della Repubblica Federale Tedesca presso la Santa Sede, un edificio più moderno in mattoni rossi di ispirazione nordica, non proprio coerente con lo stile circondante.
È curiosa la presenza di tre immagini della Madonna, rievocanti la vicina via delle Tre Madonne. La più antica è in un’edicola piccola e arrugginita, situata sotto la meridiana, mentre le altre due sono statuette in marmo, una sulla facciata della chiesa appartenente al convento di clausura delle Carmelitane Scalze, l’altra sul fianco della villetta adiacente.

The name of the street derives from the three-sided sundial at the beginning of the street, where it says "Sine sole sileo", or "Without the sun I am dumb".
As you proceed forward until around the curve, the atmosphere is increasingly mysterious, elegant and fairytale-like, almost from the eighteenth century.
The road opens into the heart of the ancient Villa Sacchetti, which was divided at the end of the 19th century into several smaller villas, and in the early 1900s it entered directly into the properties of Baron Aliotti.
The road was closed, until 1913, by Villa Aliotti, which was demolished to build the residence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Holy See, a more modern Nordic-inspired red brick building, not very coherent with the surrounding style.
It is curious the presence of three images of the Madonna, evoking the nearby Via delle Tre Madonne. The oldest is in a small and rusty aedicule, located under the sundial, while the other two are marble statuettes, one on the facade of the church belonging to the cloistered convent of the Discalced Carmelites, the other on the side of the adjacent villa.
