Geocache Description:

ONESIMUS – BIBLE CHARACTERS

ABOUT:

This trail consists of 26 geocaches (some puzzle caches and some traditional caches), each focusing on bible characters whose names begin with one of the letters of the alphabet.

These geocaches are all hidden within a few feet of a popular walking/jogging/cycling trail near the Ross Barnett Reservoir. You will NOT need to hike into the woods to find any of these. They are all hidden in the public right-of-way along the edge of the woods, on trees, signs, guard rails, or inside wooden bicycle trail posts.

There are only a few legal/official parking spots along this 11 mile trail. So, with the exception of a few geocaches located close to the parking areas, you will need to plan on hiking or bicycling a couple of miles from each parking spot to find most of these caches.

Smart Geocachers always bring several writing pens to sign the log sheet with, and small pieces of paper to sign in case a log sheet is filled up, wet, or missing. Water, mosquito repellent, and a fully charged cell phone are also advised. Bicycles are optional, but make caching this trail faster and easier.

THIS GEOCACHE: Onesimus

Onesimus was a runaway slave who had come into contact with the Apostle Paul in Rome. Paul led him to Christ and encouraged him to return to his master Philemon. Paul also sent a letter to Philemon encouraging him to receive Onesimus, not as a slave, but as a brother in the Lord. Col. 4:7-9; Philemon 10-19)
