Geocache Description:

For over 70 years, this 36 acre lake has stood undeveloped by farms or homes, (though the occasional cow pasture does border the gravel entrance road).  Wolf Lake has taken a "hit" over the years, when ground-water levels had gone to a low (which accounts for the tree-line that is 30' out into the water). Then, slowly the lake (together with Pickerel)  "refilled" over the last 10years to a more "enjoyable" level, restoring this exciting SW getaway in Portage County, to swim, fish, picnic or boat (landing available).  Back in the hay-day, Frank and Bill even brought their families and softball team parties here.  People would swim to the middle of the lake; picnic way past dark; others would collect crawlers in the cow pastures at night. Now, those children, bring their own families here to enjoy Wolf Lake.

Some swag has been provided in the replacement cache (6-2023), but room for a lot more.  Please use stealth, and return to exact location.

Please respect that this county park is only open 6am to 11pm

Have fun and submit some pictures, so others may be drawn to this sometimes forgotten get-away

Congratulations Sloughfoot on being FTF
