War Memorial #1576 ~ Normanby by Spital
Normanby & Owmby War Memorial
Normanby-by-Spital war memorial originally stood in front of Normanby Council School. It was moved to its current location in the churchyard of the Church of St Peter in 1952. The memorial is a 6ft (2m) high obelisk of polished grey granite. The memorial was unveiled in 1920. It commemorates the First World War and Second World War dead of the Normanby-by-Spital and the neighbouring parish of Owmby-by-Spital. It was refurbished and rededicated in 2006. A brass memorial plaque hangs inside the now redudant Church of St Peter, along with a roll of honour.
