Torksey railway station was opened in December 1850 on the Clarborough Junction to Sykes Junction branch line of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincoln Railway. The opening had been delayed 6 months due to concerns about Torksey Viaduct.
The station was closed on 2 November 1959. The track was lifted soon after up to the viaduct although the line before the viaduct was re-opened in 1967 to serve Cottam power station.
