Best Place by a Dam Site was a fabulous night club that actually had the stage above the bar. Great bands like John & Dave appeared regularly. There was a dam on the river nearby that was destroyed by a flood in 2001 and in 2004 the building was demolished. Please do not park on highway 8. Pull into the old parking lot.
