Geocache Description:

This cache, in honor of Jeanne La Pucelle, also known as Joan of Arc, is hidden on the island that bears her name. This area is separated from Riverside Park by Riverside Drive.

La Pucelle is most known for leading the victorious "Siege of Orleans," driving the English out of France in 1429. The following year, Jeanne was captured in the town of Compiégne and charged with 70 crimes, "including witchcraft, heresy and dressing like a man." She was found guilty and sentenced to death.

Purcelle was burned at the stake in 1431 when she was just 19-years-old.

Please Note! This cache is on the island itself (the park created by the split of Riverside Drive), but is not within any restricted area. Thinking about this young woman's rise to power may help you locate it. Please do not go past any fencing or disturb any flower beds or other vegetation. There are plenty of muggles in the area so please be cautious and be sure to replace the cache exactly as you found it so that others can have the same experience.
