Geocache Description:

Having grown up in the Kitsap area prior to joining the military I had experienced many great memories over the years, I got my first job the summer before my sophomore year then after a few months switched jobs and stayed there until after I graduated; this will be the starting point in our journey. This is our third cache hide so we thought we would make this one a premium member one and much more difficult than our others.

In this multi-cache you will be visiting three (3) different areas to gather information to provide you with the coordinates to the final cache location, at each waypoint you will either solve an equation, or find the necessary digits to lead you to the final.

Waypoint 1: (start point)
The first waypoint is where I spent almost 3 years working throughout my high school career, having started in the dish pit and quickly working my way through the stations to the point of being expo and running the line, this first location was very good to me as a teenager trying to earn some spending money.

You will have two mathematical equations you must solve for, this will provide you with the necessary A & B coordinates. (My Beautiful better half is a teacher who loves algebra so you may need to touch up on your skills for this first waypoint. A helpful reminder to remember the order of operations (Parentheses, exponents, multiply, division, addition and subtraction)).

How many words are around the top of the building in black font (some words may be repeated)? Let this number be X and use it to solve for A & B.

A = 4(2x-10)-40 = ?

\(X^2-(7x+38) \) = ?

Waypoint 2:

The second waypoint is where I had worked for about 4 or 5 months prior to getting hired at the first location you were just at. When I was in High school this location was a Little Caesar's but now it is a nail salon.

C. What is the suite number of the business on the building? Add the numbers together then subtract 2 to get the answer for C.

(Example, if the suite number were 123 add 1+2+3= 6…6-2= 4…4 would be the answer to use in this example)

D. What used to be served here, once you figure out the word (singular) then count the letters and add 2. (This will be the number to use for D).

Waypoint 3:

I am an alumnus from waypoint 3; in the years that I attended I had the opportunity to create some great memories and am amazed at the improvements which have been completed and how welcoming the campus still is.

E. Current and former students are referred to as this, count the letters (plural) this number is what you'll use for E.

F. The second digit of the PHYSICAL address of the third waypoint will be your final number needed to get you to the cache. This will be F.

The needed coordinates to the cache is:

N 47° 37.ABC W 122° 39.DEF

The final will require a Tool of the trade (TOTT) to access the cache, PLEASE do not try to pry or force it open. With the proper TOTT you will be able to easily open it. If you need to come back with the proper TOTT please do so to keep cache container in good condition for other cachers.

THE LOG IS LOCATED IN THE CACHE PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO FORCE OR PRY ANYTHING OPEN THAT DOESN'T EASILY OPEN, ONCE THE CACHE HAS BEEN OPENED YOU DO NOT NEED ANY ADDITIONAL TOOLS TO FIND THE LOG.

Once the cache container has been opened proceed to read the instructions posted inside of the cache.

Must sign the log to count for the find.

Do not mark cache as found if you do not get your signature on the log. Any finds without signature on the log will be deleted.

There is an unregistered TB and a special prize for the FTF, there is also a little room for some swag to trade. We would ultimately like to see at least one small TB in the cache at all times for people to be able to trade out if possible.

This area can be a VERY high muggle area at times so depending on the time and day you arrive discretion may be required.

This cache has been approved by the Kitsap county parks department

PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY PICTURES OF THE CACHE OR SURROUNDING AREAS.

The needed waypoints are already provided for you.

Once you believe you have the correct coordinates, you can check them here at Geochecker
