Geocache Description:

The original Sum practice series was published alongside the “3 out of 6 = ½” Multi cache. This cache has been added to the the trail of three original caches between two historically significant sites, the famous Stanley Ferry Aqueduct (see link for more) and the Newland estate (see link for more), which has a long history dating back to the Bronze Age. As well as providing an interesting walk in its own right, this series is designed to give you sum simple practice to help solve the much more difficult sums involved in the Multi cache.

Not all caches in the series have a pencil so bring your own.

The walk is not dangerous in itself but does involve a short walk on a road without a proper pavement, walking near a canal and a river, walking near derelict buildings and, depending on the weather and time of year, walking on some slippy muddy paths. As such be mindful of young ones and wear appropriate footwear.

You can do the sums for this series at your leisure in the warmth of your own home and check your answer in the hint. Although the hint confirms the answer to the sum, it is of no real use at all to you as there is no longer a bonus in the series!! However the nature of the sums might make you realise that the multi cache might not be as difficult as you first think!

The original Sum Practice 4 was archived several years ago. This cache is nowhere near the original  but inherits its name.

If A=1 and B=7 and C= 3,698 what is D?

 A + 3B + (17 x C) – (12 x C) - (B + B +B) - (5 x C) = D
