U.S. Route 66 or U.S. Highway 66 (US 66 or Route 66), also known as the Will Rogers Highway, the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways in the U.S. Highway System. US 66 was established on November 11, 1926, with road signs erected the following year.[4] The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in the United States, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before terminating in Santa Monica in Los Angeles County, California.
A new idea is in the works and as we speak it is happening having Adventure Lab Caches from Chicago all the way to Santa Monica.
There is also a power trail of 800 caches in the series along this stretch of Route 66. All the caches in this series are on the same side of the road; therefore, this series should be done heading eastbound (from Barstow towards Needles) Before you start your trip down Route 66 you will find many places from the past old places to stay and old gas stations that went out of Business when the new route 40 opened. Come bye and sign the log sheet for this epic event then head on down the old highway stay safe and have Fun. Please Note the large Cache got destroyed in 2021 by a geocacher the new hide is smaller but if I change the large rating 100 past finders could be angry with me so I am keeping the size the same.
