The Flying Dutchmen: Given the amount of heavy trash, the rock climbing and heavy lifting required, upgraded to a terrain 4.5.

Nice turnout for a December CITO, see you again third Saturday in January. Bajatym is planning to be the host of that CITO.

Gloves, Bags & Pickers: Check in at the Blue Canopy on the grass to receive a parking pass (required if you park in this parking lot next to the Blue Canopy. Ask for validity on 1st ST and other streets).  Save Our Beach provides bags and pickers, but feel free to bring your own.

TERRAIN RATING: The terrain rating is set at 2 if you stay off the rocks, and if you are collecting trash on the rocks of the jetty it is rated higher. Note that the rocks can be very slippery and can be dangerous. WET ROCKS ARE slippery, and may result in slips and possible injury. Wear adequate footwear. You may get wet. Protect yourself and your GPS or smartphone. Regarding the terrain rating, the choice is yours! Either way, bring plenty water and wear a hat and apply sunscreen.

WHERE YOU FIND THE GEOCACHER GROUP:
Cachers tend to spread out in a number of smaller groups along the jetty (the rocky area). Look for people wearing geocaching gear or apparel. Remember, you are one of us, and all cachers look alike.

THE LOG:
During previous CITO events we retrieved these marvelous items and used it as the event log and to frame the CITO group, see pictures. The log will be a trashy treasure found during the CITO, what it will look like is unpredictable! Feel free to post your snap-shot pictures. Should you miss the group picture or log, no worries, just post a picture that shows you with the CITO bag or grabber at the beach.  Please note that Geocaching.com does not require you to physically sign the log when attending a CITO event or post pictures.

EARNING YOUR SMILIE: Should you arrive late, or simply DNF the CITO crew (sometimes we blend in with the muggle crowd quite well), if you attended the beach cleanup and filled a bag of trash you earned your smilie. Selfies are desired but not required.

Pictures shown are from previous CITO events - some took place before the pandemic.

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[If you see people picking trash, they are muggles. If you see a group talking trash, they are cachers. So true!] Need hints on puzzle caches? events are one venue to collect intelligence!
