Welcome to Copiague History and facts Geo-Art design as part of an Eagle Scout project by Troop 2000. The Eagle represents the Copiague schools’ mascot and the Eagle scout rank in scouting. This GeoArt is designed to bring attention to the beautiful hamlet of Copiague while learning history & trivia you might not have known existed around you. This Eagle project was done in conjunction with the Town of Babylon Beautification Program.

Scudder Ave School – In 1950 the town needed more room in the over crowed School on Great Neck Road which lead them to lease a building not too far away originally built as a factory but never was used as one. The Annex building later became called Scudder Ave School. The school had 22 room with cement floors and beaverboard walls. In 1954 a brick structure was added to the school property and later expanded to include a gym and cafeteria. As the population decreased the Scudder Ave school was not needed and closed in 1979.
