An easy saunter along Cabin Flats Road.
From the parking area take the road that leads to the left. This is private property, but the owners have allowed foot traffic for over thirty years. NO BIKES! You will have an easy 1.5 mile walk along an old logging road.
The cache -- a circular Tupperware-ish container with a blue lid -- will be found about 15 yards from an old outhouse. The log is pink survey tape.
Continuing further along the road will get you to an old home that has seen better days. The road continues until you are just below the Richland Balsam Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are many great views along the way. Feel free to explore. Daylight hours are preferred.
